Leader Devo

As you prepare for today’s lesson, I want you to pause for a moment and prepare your heart. Then I want you to read Luke 19:1–10.

Jesus came to seek and save us. Why? Because He loves us. I can only imagine what the people in the crowd near Zacchaeus were thinking, but I guarantee we’ve all felt it before. I bet there’s been a time when you felt like you were missing out or wondered why someone else got to do something you so badly wanted to be a part of … a time when you wanted to be seen.

Maybe you couldn’t see Jesus approaching, or maybe you thought you weren’t worthy, but Jesus sought you out. He sought you out for a reason. He sought you out to make a difference. He sought you out so you could be saved from the sin that you are powerless to save yourself from.

That’s the type of love that Jesus has. The story is about more than a little man in the tree—it’s about Jesus finding us wherever we are. You’re worth finding. Never forget that.
