Soraya Marin Goad
Location: Denver, Colorado (serving globally)
Local Time:
Missionary Agency: WorldVenture
Soraya says that her story is rather simple: She was a sinner, lost between the threads of tradition and truth; she was raised Catholic in Venezuela; and by the grace of God, she was saved and came to know truth, His truth, while attending college in the U.S. “The Lord poured out His love on me,” Soraya says, “transforming and equipping me in the local church.” God also blessed Soraya greatly with a very successful career in the corporate world, which served as her first mission field. Afterwards, the Lord called her to serve full time in the mission field, first in the U.S. and then internationally to Guatemala, India, Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, and Spain. After 10 years of blessed ministry in Spain serving at IBSTE seminary, the Lord asked Soraya to take a step of faith and obedience by returning to the U.S. This time, the Lord invited her to serve in the leadership team of the missions organization that took her to Spain: WorldVenture.
While in the U.S., God had her work with Hispanics and Americans. In Spain, He invited her to work with the Spaniards, Catalans, other Europeans, and Muslim diaspora from North Africa. Now, in Denver, Soraya continues traveling and doing missions in Spain as much as possible. Through her role as Chief Operations Officer with WorldVenture’s Global Operations Team (the GO Team), God also has invited her to serve 400 missionaries in 65 countries, who range from theological educators, church planters, and disciples-makers to doing business as mission. He took her from S. A., educated her in the U.S., continued to equip her in the Iberia peninsula, and now He opened the world of global missions to lead and collaborate engaging the world for Gospel impact.
“I am a daughter of Stonebriar Community Church,” Soraya says, “who commissioned me to serve globally. Thank you. Gracias—to this church, the leadership, and to so many of you who are active in sustaining and sending people like me and others who are called to take missional living to the ends of the world.”
Hobbies and Interests: Soraya considers herself greatly blessed by the adoption of three children who are now grown. One lives in Texas, the second one in Canada each with their respective families. Soraya’s youngest one lives with her in Denver, Colorado, and she is a terrific ministry partner with their Spaniard service puppy named Maca!
